2/3/2008 St. Louis Aces Honored with Award from Leukemia Lymphoma Society
Every year, the St. Louis Aces partner with numerous charities and non-profit organization in the community to help raise awareness and support, and this year, the Aces were recognized for their support.
In January 2008, the Aces received an award from the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society for raising approximately $10,000 for the organization.
For the Kansas City Explorers vs. the Aces match July 13, 2007, the St. Louis Aces held a Leukemia and Lymphoma Society Gateway Chapter Night. Members of the organization were on hand to distribute information and talk to fans at a booth. Additionally, proceeds from tickets sold by LLS's staff went right back to the organization.
The Leukemia Lymphoma Society also honored Kansas City Explorer Corina Morariu - tennis champion and cancer survivor. After telling fans the story of how she overcame acute promyelocytic leukemia, Morariu drew the winning raffle ticket of a Mont Blanc product.
Also helping the fight against leukemia and lymphoma was Danielle Apted, general manager of the St. Louis Aces, who single-handedly raised $7,000 for the organization during her campaign for LLS's Woman of the Year.
